Williams Chapel AME Church honored a trustee with more than 60 years of service to the church by adding his name to the church’s board room.
Julius A. Page, trustee emeritus at the church, was honored during a “Celebration of Servanthood” ceremony held in conjunction with the church’s annual Family and Friends Day on July 21.
Former pastor Allen Wayne Parrott appointed Page as a trustee in the 1980s. He was named trustee pro tempore in 2000 when the church was under the leadership of former pastor Roderick Dwayne Belin.
Page’s responsibilities included, but were not limited to, management, maintenance and use of the church property under the direction of the official board.
He retired from the trustee pro tempore position in October 2021.
Page is still an active board member and participates in other church activities, including serving as part of the Men’s Day Committee, Mighty Men of Missions, Sons of Allen and the lay organization.
