A family of five lost its home to fire on Wednesday afternoon.
“It’s just heartbreaking,” homeowner Alyssa Bozard said
An emotional Bozard returned to her Orangeburg home on Thursday morning to meet with the American Red Cross.
The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety fire chief and a couple of S.C. Law Enforcement Division agents were also at the scene. They were investigating the remains of the home.
Fire burned the Hillsboro Road home around 4:43 p.m. Wednesday.
Bozard said she’d left in the afternoon to pick up her children from their day school and dropped them off at her in-laws’ house.
“Not even an hour later, I got a call saying they thought my house was on fire,” she said.
