Tammi Milligan Green has announced she is running for Calhoun County treasurer in the June 11 Democratic primary.
Green is the current delinquent tax collector for Calhoun County and has 13 years of experience in that office.
In addition to her current financial management role, Green has prior banking experience.
The two-week filing period for the 2024 statewide and local political races will start this weekend. The filing runs from noon March 16 to noon April 1.
A lifelong Calhoun County resident, Green has been married for 23 years and has two children.
Green vows to operate with the highest level of openness and integrity while relying on her practical experience and qualifications.
“I plan on taking the mystery out of the process so that there is increased confidence in the balancing of the county’s books while ensuring that we meet our financial obligations in a timely manner,” Green said.
