Dr. Felisha Williams has been named the principal of Lake Marion Middle School in the Orangeburg County School District.
“I am proud to have such a caring, well-trained and dedicated academician at the helm of what will be the new Lake Marion Middle School,” OCSD Superintendent Dr. Shawn Foster said in a release Tuesday.
“It has been said that there are no good schools without good principals, and where you have good principals, great teachers come, they stay and they work hard,” he said.
Lake Marion Middle School is being built on the campus of Lake Marion High School, and will serve students who currently attend Holly Hill-Roberts Middle and Elloree Middle. The targeted opening date of the school is August 2024.
Williams has dedicated 25 years to serving public schools in both Georgia and South Carolina. Most recently, she served as the principal of Holly Hill-Roberts Middle School.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary administration from South Carolina State University, a master’s degree in administration from Charleston Southern University and a doctorate in education from Argosy University in Atlanta.
“I am deeply honored and thrilled to serve as the principal of Lake Marion Middle School. This role is not just a position to me; it’s a commitment to our students, teachers and community. I am committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring both students and staff to achieve excellence together,” Williams said
Williams is a graduate of the Orangeburg County School District’s Leadership Development Academy, the South Carolina Department of Education Leadership Development Academy and the SCDOE Office of School Leadership Foundations in School Leadership. Additionally, she is a member of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching and a personalized learning team leader.
Williams has experience as an elementary school teacher for grades 3-5; a middle school ELA, social studies and character education teacher; an ISS instructor; resource teacher and a personalized learning development coach.
