The 292nd birthday of our First President and acclaimed “Father of our Country”, General George Washington will be commemorated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 on the grounds of the Orangeburg County Historical Society and Pioneer Cemetery at 1421 State Road in Orangeburg (1421 Middleton St.)
– 1st president (April 30, 1789-March 4, 1797)
The Battle of Eutaw Springs Chapter of the South Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution with support from the General William Moultrie/Eutaw Springs Chapter S.C. Society Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a brief ceremony with colors, greetings and remarks honoring this president who was born on Feb. 22, 1732, and died on Dec. 14, 1799, at the age of 67 years.
