The story of Aladdin is one of the most popular tales of all time, as our hero wins the heart of Princess Jasmine, with the help of his three pals and the classic showman Genie, along with a magical carpet ride around the world. We can’t forget the evil Jafar who, true to all Disney villains, almost gets away with the whole kingdom of Agrabah before Aladdin outsmarts him and brings peace to the land.

The 33-member cast consists of students who enrolled in the Performing Arts Youth Theater’s summer camp in Cameron, which began July 1. Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.” is directed by Peggy Hirth, with music by Josh Pierce, choreography by Bryce Drew, set design by Marty Millender, and costumes by Malinda Wilson.

The Performing Arts Youth Theater offers a five-week summer theater camp for ages 3-18, teaching acting, singing, and dancing, concluding with performances of Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.”
