Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that investigators are searching for a missing Orangeburg preteen last seen on Sunday afternoon.
“If anyone has seen this child, please let us know,” the sheriff said. “We’ve got deputies searching but we’re asking for your help as well.”
Ravenell said Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for 12-year-old Zakia Yani Brown.
The youth was last seen around 2 p.m. Sunday around the 800 block of Carson Street.
The Sheik Street youth is described as a Black female last believed to be wearing a short-sleeve black shirt, a black zip-up jacket, black and white zebra pants and “bubba” slides.
If anyone has any information on Brown’s whereabouts, they are urged to call the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550.
