The annual Orangeburg Branch NAACP Black History Calendar Tea was held Sunday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2259 Rowesville Road, in Orangeburg.
The theme for this year’s program was “Vote: Your Life and Democracy Depends On It.”
Master of ceremonies was South Carolina State University’s former head football coach and icon Willie Jeffries.
Oratorical speeches were presented by young, Orangeburg-area school students.
The Rosemary Griffin and Company choir presented musical performances.
The Black History Calendar Tea is held annually to promote membership and recognize those who have made worthwhile contributions to people of color. In addition, it emphasizes the purpose and importance of the NAACP.
