MUSC Health-Orangeburg announced a new partnership with Med-Trans Corporation, a global medical response company, to launch Meducare 4.
Meducare 4 is a helicopter flight service designed to enhance emergency medical transport in the region.
This collaboration will support the hospital’s air transport needs and provide critical emergency medical flight services across Bamberg, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties.
Meducare 4, the latest addition to MUSC Health’s fleet, will have its home base at MUSC Health-Orangeburg. It’s the fourth helicopter put into service through MUSC Health’s partnership with Med-Trans.
The helicopter is equipped to provide rapid, high-quality medical care in transit, ensuring patients receive the immediate attention they need during emergencies.

The addition of Meducare 4 aligns with MUSC Health’s commitment to delivering exceptional health care services and ensuring that communities in Bamberg, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties have access to timely and efficient emergency medical transport.
This service will also play a role in facilitating patient transfers to specialized care centers when necessary, bridging the gap between local and advanced medical facilities.
