ATLANTA — The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame’s 2023 Hall of Fame honorees include four inductees from The T&D Region.

Among the inductees are Henry Allen, South Carolina State University, industry; James W. Bowden, Denmark Technical College, lifetime achievement; Dr. Melissa Green Parker, Claflin University, science; and Dr. Cleveland Sellers, Voorhees University, civil rights.

The full listing is comprised of the “best of the best” of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) alumni that have influenced the worlds of medicine, business, education, arts, entertainment, science, government, faith, community service, law, athletics, civil rights, industry and lifetime achievement. As the contributions of HBCU institutions and their graduates continue to grow, the Hall of Fame’s inductees continue to demonstrate an influential cross-section of leaders that positively impact campus, local, national and global communities.

The 2023 class spotlights the these HBCU graduates – showcasing visionaries, leaders and advocates across a diverse range of professions who are widely recognized for their professionalism, advocacy of HBCUs and community service. The expansive list of leaders includes the special recognition of The Chairman’s Inductee Award to William F. Pickard for his outstanding business achievements, mentorship, community service and exemplary philanthropic leadership.
