The Dogwood Garden Club of Orangeburg, an affiliate of National Garden Clubs, Inc., recently participated in that organization’s National Garden Week. The event, held from June 2-8, 2024, gave garden clubs nationwide a way to “encourage pride in your community, interest new members, and work with other groups to be part of those efforts.”

Dogwood Garden Club has participated in the annual event for over 25 years. For 2024 the group again chose to brighten lobbies and offices across Orangeburg County. The hand-delivered vases of fresh flowers brought beauty and cheer. Henry Miller of Samaritan House said, “Our folks are going to love these!” Kenith Salley of the Orangeburg mayor’s office reported, “We got a lot of compliments on the flowers. Everyone loved them, and they lasted a long time!”

Dogwood Garden Club looks forward to participating in this wonderful event for years to come. The group hopes to expand the number of recipients next year by increasing membership.
