BAMBERG –The annual Denmark Fire Department Auxillary’s 9/11 Remembrance Parade will begin Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Old Denmark-Olar School (413 Legare Street, Denmark). This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and is the 22nd anniversary of this parade.
According to Paul Eubanks, Bamberg County Fire Coordinator, “Anna Lee Jennings of the Denmark Fire Department Auxiliary organized the first 9/11 Remembrance Parade 22 years ago. She is the “Station Mom” who does so much for us, and we can’t thank her enough. We encourage Bamberg County citizens and leaders to join our First Responders to honor our brothers and sisters who gave the ultimate sacrifice on a day we must never forget.”
