The 23rd annual Cameron Community Christmas Cantata will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 8160 Old State Road, Cameron. The performances will be at 5 and 7:30 p.m. A reception will be held between the two performances in the fellowship hall.
This year’s production is titled “Nativity Suites” by Benjamin Harlan. The performance will bring favorite carols and beautiful new songs together in a complete worship service for the Christmas season. It also includes thoughtful new readings based on traditional scripture.

The selections include: It Came Upon the Midnight Clear; O Come, All Ye Faithful; Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus; Lo! How a Rose E’er Blooming; Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!; Joy to the World!; What Child Is This?; The First Noel; Angels We Have Heard On High and many more. The performance concludes with Handel’s ever-popular Hallelujah Chorus. The cantata will be performed by approximately 40 singers and musicians from 15 area churches.

The cantata is directed by Mary Ann Stone. Accompanists are Capers B. Bull Jr., organ; Cheryl Smith, piano; and Mickey Weeks, percussion. Narration will be provided by Pat Black.
There will be prelude of Christmas music prior to each performance.
The cantata is sponsored in part by the Calhoun County Museum and Cultural Center and the C. Frederic Ulmer Memorial Fund. It is being presented in memory of C. Frederic Ulmer.
