Broadus Jamerson to speak at Trinity United Methodist Church Veterans Day Service
Trinity United Methodist Church will hold a special worship service on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, in observance of Veterans Day. Lt. Col. (Ret.) Broadus Jamerson III will be the speaker. Veterans will be recognized and honored during the 10 a.m. service.

Born in Orangeburg, Jamerson attended elementary school at Felton Laboratory School and Christ the King Catholic School in Orangeburg and attended high school at St. Emma Military Academy in Powhatan, Virginia. Upon graduation from high school, he enrolled at South Carolina State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1968, a Master’s in Vocational Rehabilitation in Counseling in 1977, and a Master’s in Counseling Education in 1978.
He has served in various positions since his graduation from South Carolina State College. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant (ROTC) and was initially stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Additional military assignments include Fort Jackson, Korea, Granada, and Saudi Arabia. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1996 with the United States Army Reserve after 28-½ years of service.

After his active military service, Jamerson joined the staff of the Office of the South Carolina Attorney General – Child Support Division in 1976, where he worked for three years as an investigator. He later served as an executive director with the South Carolina State Employees Association. He is the recipient of numerous service awards for his continued engagement and work in the community.
In recognition of our veterans, Trinity United Methodist Church joins together to honor those veterans who give of their time to help other veterans, to be community to families of deployed soldiers, and to come together to honor the millions who sacrifice so much.
