Mrs. Brenda Jamerson, Board Chair of the Samaritan House of Orangeburg, was recently elected to the Midlands Area Consortium for the Homeless (MACH) Board of Directors. The purpose of this board is to govern, set policy, advocate, and ensure resources are available to carry out the mission land purposes of the Midlands Area Consortium for the Homeless.
Founded in 1994, the Midlands Area Consortium for the homeless strives to end homelessness by making a difference in the lives of people who are experiencing homelessness.
It serves the counties of Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, and York and comprised of over 60 agencies.

The organization addresses homelessness by promoting collaboration and planning among state and local governments, corporate and non-profit organizations, and faith-based entities that support individuals and families in their quest to move from homelessness to housing.
